As an advocate, 

I want to help parents become informed and 

relevant members of the ARD team. I want to bring my experience and knowledge to the team to best support the student to reach their goals.

As a teacher, 

I want to help students reach their goals

 in reading and writing.

I use a multisensory approach that focuses on learning and applying 

reading and writing skills.

I also want to empower parents to 

become teachers through books and videos in

Apple Adventures. 

Current Openings in Reading/ Writing Instructional Groups:

Reading and writing instruction is provided on weekdays after school. 

I also offer summer tutoring!

🌞Summer Reading Camp with Mrs. Barnes!

I am starting to plan my Summer Reading Camp again! We had so much fun learning last summer!

🍎Designed to help struggling readers currently in Kindergarten through 5th grade. 

🍎I am a Texas Certified Special Education Teacher with 18 years of experience. I taught for 16 years in the public school system and 2 years as a private reading/writing tutor and special education advocate.

🍎We will be working on decoding, encoding (spelling), reading comprehension, and writing. I teach using a multisensory approach focusing on the 6 syllable types. I'll also sprinkle in some fun movement and art activities!

🍎Located in Light Farms.

🍎$300 per weekly session

🍎Morning or Afternoon times are available.

🍎Monday-Friday

🍎There will be 6 students per group. Small group learning equals more progress!

July 21st-25th

🍏Times Available:

Morning 9:00-12:00
